Purpose:
Pre-release reentry preparation, housing support, personal accountability, community connection, and post-release stabilization.
The BARRIERS Reentry Initiative is designed to help selected Bibb County Jail participants prepare for successful transition back into the community. The program addresses both the internal behaviors that contribute to repeated incarceration and the practical barriers individuals face after release.
Key components include:
· Weekly structured reentry sessions.
· Individualized reentry planning.
· Housing assessment and coordination.
· Housing placement opportunities for eligible participants where available.
· Employment and workforce preparation.
· Personal accountability and decision-making.
· Behavioral-health and recovery referrals.
· Community resource navigation.
· Mentorship and positive support.
Primary Goal: Help participants leave Bibb County Jail with a realistic plan, stable support, and a stronger pathway toward successful reentry.
